Run2theSun Dusk2dawn Ultra-Relay

It is with deep regret that we are announcing the postponement of Run2theSun. We hope to have our run return in 2019. We feel you are entitled to an explanation as to why we are postponing this inaugural run. In early 2018, our family experienced a medical crisis and it was our hope that this would be behind us by this time. Unfortunately we are still very much in the thick of it and there isn't going to be a quick resolution. This has become priority number one for us and it has taken away from our ability to manage and promote our run. It was our desire to move forward with Run2theSun but only if we can deliver on putting together an epic run to remember. We will be sending full refunds to those who registered on active.com including the the processing fee in the next week. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you find another quality fun in the area!

We ask you to pray for healing. Thank you.

CHARITY PARTNER

The Mission of Our Lady of the Angels establishes a Catholic presence in the West Humboldt Park area on Chicago’s west side.

This area is presently one of the poorest neighborhoods in the City of Chicago. The purpose of the Mission is twofold:  to assist the materially poor and to share the treasure of our Catholic Faith.

ASSISTANCE TO THE MATERIALLY POOR INCLUDES:
-Food Pantry- The Mission currently provides food to about 700 families each month.
-Distribution of Clothing/ Household Goods- Gently used clothing as well as furniture and household goods are distributed at set times as well as for emergencies.
-Emergency Assistance- The Mission provides emergency food, material assistance, and referencing to other agencies as requested.
-Afterschool Programming- Approximately 900 youth participate in a variety of afterschool, evening and summers programs,
-Senior Citizens Programming- Each week the Mission hosts between 30-40 seniors for a program which includes:  exercise, computer classes, a Bible study, and lunch.
-Community Dinners- The Mission’s newest outreach strives to provide a safe, healthy, and wholesome environment for the families in our neighborhood. The community dinners give the neighbors an opportunity to pray, enjoy a nutritious meal, and foster healthy family and community relationships based on Christian values.
