Via Dolorosa literally means "Way of Suffering" or "Way of Sorrow. It is the actual cobblestone path Jesus carried his cross on his way to Golgatha where he was crucified.
Via Dolorosa Trail Marathon is run on 90% single track trail.
Via Dolorosa is limited to 350 runners.
The Ice Age Age Trail and area around Holy Hill is some of the most beautiful scenery in all of Wisconsin. We want to keep it that way. That is why runners will be required to carry their own water bottle/s. We are trying to limit the impact of this event on the environment. Aid stations will have water and energy drink to refill your bottles along with bananas and other food.
The Ice Age Trail at times is very isolated. Trail is marked well with yellow tabs and arrows. Please stay alert and follow signage. Race officials and volunteers will be adding additional signage to ensure runners stay on course.
